I grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas, where my
Dad worked as an electrical engineer for Texas Electric.
We lived relatively close to what once was a major
thoroughfare of the American West, the trail cowboys
once used to move cattle herds north from Texas to Kansas City.
After finishing high school, I earned an associates degree
at Arlington State College, now the University of Texas at Arlington.
I subsequently earned my LLB at Baylor University School of Law,
and then served two years in the United States Army at Fort Riley,
Kansas. Since, I have been engaged in the general practice of
law for over 35 years.
During my legal career, I have addressed many different
parts of the law, sometimes as a plaintiff's attorney in
tort or liability cases, sometimes as a negotiator in cases
involving family or individual estates, sometimes as legal
counsel for small businesses, and sometimes as an attorney
for real estate acquisition and sales.*
In addition to work, I devote several hours a week
to worship at Morgan Avenue Baptist Church, where I sing
in the church choir. I am also an avid gardener.
