Excerpts from Kindergarten Kapers
This is Me  (a finger play to use with self-image)

This is me, and this is you  (use pointer fingers from both hands)
And these are all our friends.  (hold up all fingers)
Spread us out; this you can do.
Watch this one as he bends.  (one finger is bent)

Some of us are tall and thin.  (show long fingers)
Some of us are shorter  (show small fingers)
One of us might have a twin.
One might have a brother.

Now bring us all together.  (hold all fingers up)
Just see how nice we stand.
Oh, we'll be friends forever!
Like fingers on a hand.

Sleepy Animals  (For winter unit)

All winter do some animals sleep.
No clocks or appointments do they keep.

Some people call it "to hibernate."
I think that they just get up too late.

By the time they get up, it'll be spring.
And they'll want to eat up everything.

I wonder what Mom and Dad would say,
If I tried to eat and sleep this way.

Snow

Snowflakes falling gently to the ground.
Some are swaying; some are going round.

They are twirling, tumbling backwards, too.
Just as if someone had said, "Shoo, shoo!"

Soon all will be covered with the snow.
White up above and white below!
